Friendship Stars and when not to fix mistakes

About a year ago, I finished a quilt for a dear friend who lives in Florida. I don’t see her very often, and I wanted to give her a quilt as a token of my friendship. I was excited to be able to gift it to her in person, and it was so worth it! She was absolutely thrilled!

It was a pattern by MSQ Co, and I choose it because a Friendship Star block is one of my favorites, and I had the perfect fabric for it. Link to the tutorial is below:

Only a couple of people know is that this beautiful quilt has a mistake. I discovered it after it was quilted and almost bound. Here is where I have to admit that I’m a bit of a perfectionist… so why didn’t I fix it?

I decided that life isn’t perfect and while I wanted to make a perfect gift to my dear friend, this is the quilt that I made. Personally, while always striving to do my best, I enjoy the process much more that the illusive idea of being perfect.
