May was a great month for quilting! I had six quilts in progress at the beginning of the month and by the end have finished 4 quilt tops and now am down to just 2. I added a border to the fifth one, and quilted and gifted one more. All this wonderful finishing energy has inspired me to get the two remaining WIPs completed next month. I have two more in the planning stages for my cousin’s sons. Plus one more that I just found a lovely pattern for to use up some of my overflowing scraps. I have ideas for a few more, but my focus this year will be on actually QUILTING my 30+ backlog of quilt tops.
Below are three of the projects that I was working on in May. Click on the photo to see more details about each one.
Another exciting bit of news – our Quilt Club has restarted after a 3-year hiatus! More details about out meetings are here: Quilt Club 2023
The final bit of news is the best – I purchased a studio frame in April for my Q20 and it’s finally set up and ready for the quilting marathon to start. Back in the days before the pandemic, I never had quilt tops languishing in my studio, and I would like to get back to having quilts done so I can gift them or show them off. I will start with the current Quilt Club quilt – Scrappy Chips – and plan to have it done by our next meeting in June.
Have a wonderful summer everyone and keep on quilting!
