Our Quilt Club is going strong for 2025! Five members from last year attended our first meeting on January 18th. I wish more could have made it since we discussed and decided on our annual project. We will be making Victoria Findlay Wolfe quilt from her new book The Quilting Experience. Everyone is purchasing the book – it’s available on Victoria’s website in the link above, and several others.
There will be some changes to the dates when we can meet every month, and I have posted our meeting schedule here: Quilt Club 2025

This is our homework for February meeting – we will be reading chapter 1 and making the first block. Some of us will be making just one block each month instead of the recommended number in the book, as the quilt is rather large and we all like to play with the layout and customize our quilts!
Kathleen brought a lovely project for show and tell. Her quilt was a beautiful tree skirt that she needed some input on how to finish quilting it. I brought 3 of my finished tops that had been languishing from last year that I finally completed! Yay!!

The rest of meeting we mostly caught up after the holidays and Judith shares some stories about her animals. Kathleen also mentioned that her LQS, Tint in Falls Church, will be having a sale in the next few weeks and we are planning a field trip in the beginning of February to see (I mean buy…LOL) the lovely contemporary fabrics available there.
I hope to see more members attend our meetings in the coming months and am looking forward to seeing our creativity shine in the new project.
Happy quilting everyone!
