Some of my Finished Quilts

I wrote the post last fall and didn’t publish it! Sometimes life gets in the way and I prefer to live it and spend time with the people I care about, rather than on the computer. In 2024 I’ve quilted 14 tops and pieced 7 more. I’ve kept pretty busy finishing projects and teaching classes also. I’m slowly making a dent in my backlog of tops to be quilted from the last 5 years.

My nephew turned 3 in August 2024. He LOVES cars and trucks and is very proud of his collection. He was so proud to show his cars to my son Sasha who visited us in July. I’ve been collecting transposition themed fabrics for a while and made him a little quilt with cars, trucks and all things that go. It’s even reversible with trains on the back! There is more of that fabric for other quilts – I got 8 yards when Sasha was small!!!

Some of my lonely tops have been quilted and bound last year also. The one below was made in 2021, then remade in 2023, and finally I was happy with the look and used all the leftover on the back. I quilted it with a variegated King Tut thread with an overall loopy swirl design. It went NC as a “get well” gift to a friend I met on my trip to Ireland in 2023.

In August and September I taught 3 beginner quilting classes at G-Street. It’s feels great to share my love of this wonderful craft with others!

Happy Quilting everyone!
