At our February meeting we we welcomed 2 new members and almost everyone came to the meeting and made the first block! It was great to see everyone and all the colorful blocks. Dorothy did a demo on how to insert a zipper in the hoop. Kathleen brought two appliqué quilts with animals – she will be teaching a class at G-Street on how to make these – they are easy, fast and look great!
For anyone who is interested in contributing to the Australian animal quilt, I will be emailing out files with paper-piecing diagrams. Susan also found a pattern to make and embroidery of a bird. More to follow…
Gwen will be doing a short demo on paper piecing during our March meeting.
Our March meeting will be on Saturday, March 21st, 2-4 pm in the Bernina department as usual. Please make the second block and bring it to the meeting next month. It will be fun to see how they look together and all the different colors.
