At our January meeting we discussed making a quilt with endangered Australian animals. Kathleen is looking into some patterns on how to make appliqués. We all thought it might be nice to make a quilt together and auction it off with the proceeds going to help Australia recover after their devastating fires. This is not required, but whoever is interested in participating, please do some research on how to make appliqué blocks and we can talk in more detail at the February meeting.
Gwen and Dorothy have offered to do demos in February and March. Dorothy will be doing a demo on how to insert a zipper in the hoop! Gwen will demo paper piecing! The format of the meeting this year will be to display our blocks (please make and bring your block to the meeting!), then have a short demo of that month’s technique, then have show and tell.
February meeting will be on the 15th 2-4 pm in the Bernina department as usual. Please make the first block and bring it to the meeting next month. It will be fun to see how they look together and all the different colors.
