

The name of this quilt came from my dream of visiting Australia since I was little. More on that topic later…
When a few years ago my LQS began carrying Australian fabrics, and I started collecting them immediately! Link below is to my LQS – Capital Quilts in Gaithersburg, MD, where you can find a large selection of Aboriginal fabrics.
To make this quilt I used 33 different fat quarters and a simple pattern from MSQ Co. There is link below for Jenny’s tutorial.
I modified the original pattern to make it the size I wanted. Cutting and piecing was very quick, but it took some time to decide on the borders. They are made with two extra rows of Dresden blocks cut in half. I also added two thin borders after it was quilted, to make the finished size 97″ square.
