I made a new scrappy throw for my Mom. She really likes these small soft quilts!

One evening I went thru my bin of 5” blocks and made 68 HTSs. It only took a little over an hour to select the fabrics and make all the blocks. I grouped them into sets of four to make 17 – 4 patch blocks.
Next day, I went thru the rest of my random charm squares and 4.5″ scraps and selected 36 light and 36 medium/dark pieces to make 18 – 4 patch blocks.
The rest was easy – just lay out all the blocks, then make all the 4-patches! I spun the seams on the back of the 4-patches to make seams flatter and then joined the blocks into rows and rows together to complete the top. That’s two more evenings and the top was done! Total time 5 hours!
Next, I needed a soft backing – minky to the rescue! I was very lucky to find the awesome black and white printed minky at Fabric.com (update – no longer available). It was on Black Friday special!
